Learning to Love One’s Self: Loving Myself First

Author: Loving Myself First

The hype about “beauty” has gone on forever. It is a sad truth that good looking people are treated better than those of us who are considered plain or unattractive. Is it fair? No, especially when that person had nothing to do with how they look. An even sadder (is that a word) thing is that many “good-looking” people are insecure and lack confidence, or have an eating disorder because he or she is trying to “be perfect.”

While there is no quick-fix to how you look or how tall you are or even how much you weigh – there are methods to learn to love yourself for who you are, what you look like,  and how to feel good about your personal beliefs and values.

I know, because I’ve had to overcome many self-defeating issues in my life and in my thinking. Like overcoming an eating disorder, alcoholism, drug addiction, food addiction, or any unhealthy habit, disease, or affliction -it takes time and life-style changes. It is slow, but worth it.

I wrote a book called Loving Myself First (http://www.LovingMyselfFirst.com) and in it I shared the methods of overcoming habits that are self-defeating and building habits that are healthy and focused on improving your life. Things like confidence, communication, goal-setting, etc. If you visit the website – it has a complete detail of what the book is about. It’s a great book – filled with solid, proven techniques (even if I do say so myself).

But even if you don’t read the book – there is one thing you need to do: Look in the mirror, look yourself in the eye and say, “I Believe In You. You are worthwhile and a valuable person.”

DO IT EVERY DAY.

Love who you are.

Best, Lorraine Morgan Scott
